Full Description
With a professional kid-friendly guide you will admire masterpieces of Greek, Roman, and Renaissance art. While admiring colourful frescoes of the Sistine Chapel, you will enter into the world of the Catholic Church at Saint Peter’s Basilica.
Your guide will involve the whole family in trivia, games and family contests to keep you and the kids entertained over the 3-hour walking tour. Visit the Belvedere Courtyard designed by Donato Bramante, the Chiaramonti Museum (with its vast collection of Roman portrait busts), the Gallery of Tapestries, the Gallery of the Candelabra, and much more. Your children will love searching for the different animal statues in the Room of Animals, like jaguar, crocodile, elephant and horse, and discover cities on the huge maps in the Hall of Geographical Maps. From the Helena's sarcophagus in the Greek Cross Hall, you will arrive to the wonderful Sistine Chapel, with its breathtaking ceiling painted by Michelangelo. Marvel at the Creation of Adam, the Last Judgment, and other scenes from the Book of Genesis, as well as further frescoes by Botticelli, Perugino and other important Italian artists of the 15th century. You'll head to Saint Peter’s Basilica, the largest church in the world, where you can admire the marble Pietà by Michelangelo and the baroque bronze Baldachin over the altar of the Basilica.

- Because of the growing popularity of the current pope Francis and his intense activity in organising mass events in the Vatican some areas might get closed last minute without previous notice. This has already happened this year and can happen again during you Vatican tour: the Sistine chapel and/or the Basilica of Saint Peter might not be accessible. In case of such events our tour guide will provide you with a valuable alternative focusing the tour inside the Vatican museums.
-
Please note due to the Jubilee, the Basilica might not be accessible as part of the tour. Unfortunately, we know that very last minute. In any case, you can go there after the tour, queueing.
